Denver Puts Itself in the Hunt at Ron Moore Intercollegiate

Krekling tied for fourth after one round

HIGHLANDS RANCH – The University of Denver women's golf team finished up day one of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Friday. The Pioneers wrapped up the day with an opening-round total of 288 (even par), putting them in third place despite battling wind and cold weather.

- Par 72
- 6,756 yards
- 16 teams

Significant Stats:
- Vanderbilt holds the team lead through 18 holes at 8-under.    
- Napat Lertsadwattana of New Mexico fought through the cold to take command on the individual leader board, posting a total 7-under 65, which tied the tournament record for a low round.

Inside the Round for the Pioneers:
- Anna Krekling put herself in the hunt on day one, firing a 3-under 69 for the round to finished tied for fourth. The senior's big day was highlighted by four birdies on the afternoon.
- Erika Danielsson, making her season debut, finished up tied for 12th at 1-under.   
- Alyson Bean tied for 25th at 1-over for the opening round.
- Emma Bryant closed out her day tied for 40th at 3-over.
- Anna Zanusso posted a 4-over 76 in her first round of play, putting her in a tie for 53rd.
- Clara Gestsdottir, competing as an individual, shot a 72 on Friday to finished tied for 18th.
- Katarina Drocarova, competing as an individual, recorded a season-low 3-under on the day, putting her in a tie for fourth.
