Efficient Offense Propels Pioneers Past Oral Roberts 3-1

TULSA, OK --Cadi Boyer notched 11 kills with a .769 hitting percentage to help carry the Denver volleyball team to a four-set win (23-25, 25-19, 25-14, 26-24) against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles Saturday on the road at Kenneth H Cooper Aerobics Center.

The victory boosted the Pioneers' record to 11-7 overall and 5-2 in Summit action.

The Pioneers were led by a double-double from Memphis Glasgow, who registered 19 kills and 18 digs on the day. Jordan Lockwood also added 13 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Ryen Wilkens chipped in for with 23 digs to go with seven blocks from Brianna Green.

SET 1 | The Pioneers fell behind early, losing a nail-biter first set 25-23. Oral Roberts grabbed the advantage for good at 17-16 in a set that was tied up 13 times before the Golden Eagles took over in the second half of the stanza.

SET 2 | Denver responded to pick up a 25-19 victory in the second set, evening the match at one set apiece. The Pioneers scored first and never trailed in the set to earn the victory. Denver opened its biggest lead of the stanza, six points, to finish off the set, totaling 16 kills in the process. The Pioneers hit .333 over the course of the set.

SET 3 | Denver grabbed a 2-1 match lead after defeating the Golden Eagles in the third set. The Pioneers led from the first point on in the set to secure a 25-14 victory. Denver opened up as much as an 11 point lead at 24-13 before finishing off the set, totaling 18 kills in the process.

SET 4 | Denver closed out the match with a 26-24 fourth-set victory, winning their third set in a row. The Pioneers came out on top of a tight battle, winning in a stanza that was tied seven times and had one lead change. Denver got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked seven Oral Roberts attacks in the stanza.
