DU Women’s Tennis’ Melville Ranked No. 56 in Final ITA Fall Rankings

Denver fifth-year student ranked among nation’s top 125 Division I players

DENVER – University of Denver women's tennis team fifth-year student Taylor Melville is ranked No. 56 in the final 2022 Fall ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point, the ITA announced on Wednesday.

Melville went 14-1 in the fall season with her only loss coming to No.-1 ranked Fiona Crawley (North Carolina) in the round of 16 of the 2022 ITA National Fall Championships. In the first round, Melville upset No. 38-ranked Alexandra Stepanova (Stanford) in straight sets to become the first DU student-athlete to advance at the ITA Fall Nationals since 2017.

During the fall season, Melville captured three singles titles: the Bedford Cup hosted by the Air Force Academy; the Jon Messick Invite hosted by Colorado State University; and the ITA Mountain Regional Championship in Las Vegas.

Melville is the first DU women's tennis player to appear in the final ITA Fall Rankings since Britt Pursell was No. 114 in 2019. In total, four Pioneers have now appeared in the final fall women's singles rankings since 2018.
