KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Junior forward
Bobby Brink had three points and the No. 3 University of Denver hockey team used three power-play goals to defeat the No. 6 Western Michigan Broncos 4-1 on Friday night at Lawson Ice Arena.
It was the Pioneers' first victory at Western Michigan since Jan. 14, 2017, ending a four-game losing streak in Kalamazoo. DU (22-6-1, 15-4-0 NCHC) is now 5-0-1 in its last six games against the Broncos (19-8-1, 11-7-1 NCHC) and is on a four-game road winning streak, improving to 8-5-0 away from Denver this year.
Brink, the NCAA leader in scoring with now 47 points (11g/36a), had a goal and two assists in the game, with points on all three power-play tallies. DU went 3-for-6 on the power play, the fifth time that the Pios have scored three times with the man advantage this season.

Mike Benning scored in the third period to seal the for the Pioneers, who received a 22-save effort from goaltender
Magnus Chrona.
The Broncos tallied first on the evening as Cole Gallant's wrist shot found twine midway through the first period, but it was the only puck that got past Chrona as the Pios went on to score four unanswered.
Savoie tied the contest on a power-play marker with 2:48 remaining in the stanza off a pass by
Bobby Brink, and Savoie returned the favor later in the second period. Brink recorded his 11th goal of the season by burying a one-timer from the high slot at 6:16 of the middle frame—it ended up being the game-winner.
The Pioneers added two more goals in the third as Benning's got his 11th tally of the year at 7:07, and Mazur recorded the third power-play marker of the night with a deflection 97 seconds later.
Denver wraps up the weekend series at Western Michigan on Saturday at 5 p.m. MT.
