[58] Denver Wins Third Straight, Sweeping Omaha at the DTP

The Pioneers took all seven points in their conference opener on Saturday

DENVER – The [58] University of Denver women's tennis team continued its winning ways on Saturday with a 7-0 victory over Omaha in the Summit League opener on Saturday afternoon at the Denver Tennis Park. DU improved to  4-4 in the victory, winning its third-straight match.
 
Doubles:
Denver got the doubles point with wins on court one and court three. Britt Pursell and Camille Verden-Anderson improved to 5-3 on the year with a 6-1 win, while Toni Nelson and Tatum Burger got to .500 on the year with a 6-2 win on the final court.
 
Singles:
The Pioneers got wins on all six singles courts.
 
Taylor Melville and Britt Pursell had wins by retirement on courts one and two. Melville was leading 6-4, 4-3, while Pursell won the first set 6-2. Pursell is now 6-2 on the year, while Melville got her second victory of the year, and her first on Denver's top court.
 
On court three, freshman Andrea Burguete Beltran won her second-straight match to improve to 4-3 by, taking it in straight-sets 6-0, 6-3.
 
Camille Verden-Anderson also made it back-to-back wins on the weekend with a 6-0; 6-3 victory on court four.
 
Tatum Burger ran her record to 3-2 on the year with a 6-2, 6-2 victory and Toni Nelson made it three wins out of six with a 6-0, 6-0 win on the final court.
 
Up Next:
Denver will play the middle game of its five-match homestand on Friday when the Pioneers host Weber State. First serve is set for 1 p.m. MT.
