[66] Denver Runs Win Streak to Five with Blanking of Oral Roberts

The Pioneers took all seven points and didn’t drop a set on Friday afternoon

DENVER – The [66] University of Denver men's tennis team (11-6, 2-0) won all singles matches in 12 sets for the second-consecutive match and picked up the doubles point in a 7-0 win over Oral Roberts on Friday afternoon at the Denver Tennis Park.  
 
Doubles:
Top doubles pairing James Davis and Matt Summers reunited on Friday to win 6-1 on the No. 1 court, while Peter Sallay and Charlie Miller took their match on court two by a count of 6-2 to take the doubles point for the Pioneers.
 
Summers and Davis have won four-straight matches together and are 9-3 on the year. Miller and Sallay improved to 5-3 as a pair this season.
 
Singles:
Denver played the minimum number of singles sets on Friday, losing six games or less on five of the six courts.
 
The closest match of the afternoon was on court one, but Davis was in the win column once again on Friday with a 7-5, 6-3 victory on Denver's top court. The win for Davis was his fourth-straight and ran his record to 9-4 on the year.
 
Nico Herrero Cuesta won 6-1, 6-3 on court two, the first Pioneer across the finish line on Friday. Herrero Cuesta is 12-3 now in 2022, winner of his last four singles matches.
 
Summers took his match 6-3, 6-2 to earn another two-point afternoon, his team-high sixth-straight singles win to send his 2022 record to 13-4.
 
Sallay won in straight sets with a 7-5, 6-1 victory on court four. Following his third-straight singles win, Sallay is now 8-7 on the year.
 
Daniel Krulig stayed hot on the number five court, taking his match 6-1, 6-1. Krulig improved to 7-5 on the year after his fourth-straight win.
 
Charlie Miller won 6-2, 6-1 on court six, his second-straight win to run his record to 7-3 this season.
 
UP NEXT: Denver will hit the road next Friday for its first away Summit League match of the season when the Pioneers take on Drake. First serve on April 8 is set for 10 a.m. MT.
