[73] Denver Wins Ninth-Straight Regular Season Title

The Pioneers take their eighth of eight possible Summit League regular season titles, after winning the WAC title in 2013, with 6-1 win at Oral Roberts

Box Score TULSA – The [73] University of Denver women's tennis team (12-8, 7-0) won its ninth-straight regular season championship, including its eight in eight full seasons in the Summit League, capturing the title with a 6-1 win over Oral Roberts (12-9, 5-2) on Saturday afternoon at the Bernis Duke Tennis Center.
 
Doubles:
Denver's doubles point came from wins on courts one and three. Britt Pursell and Camille Verden-Anderson got things going with a 6-1 win on Denver's top court. Andrea Burguete Beltran and Tatum Burger won on court three, a 6-4 victory for the Pioneers tandem.
 
Pursell and Verden-Anderson improved to 12-6 on the campaign on Denver's top court, while Burguete Beltran and Burger went to 5-4 on the year.
 
Singles:
Oral Roberts lone point came on court one, but the Pioneers took the other five courts to close out the match.
 
Pursell was the first over the line with a routine 6-0, 6-1 win, improving to 13-6 on the year.
 
Verden-Anderson made it 3-0 Pioneers with her 11th win of 2022, a 6-2, 6-2 straight-set victory.
 
Taylor Melville was the third singles match to finish, a 6-2, 7-5 win for the Pioneers to get the Denver No. 2 court player back above .500 at 8-7.
 
Burger improved to 9-3 in singles play this season with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court six and Burguete Beltran went to 11-4 in her rookie season in singles play with a 7-6 (9), 5-7, 1-0 (10-3) win on court five.

Denver will await the conclusion of the other matches around the league to find out its opponent in Friday's Summit League Semifinal. First serve in Denver's semifinal is set for 8 a.m. MT.
