[67] Denver Sweeps Kansas City for Sixth Straight Summit League Win

DU earns fourth consecutive 7-0 win over league opponent on Saturday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The [67] University of Denver women's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory over Kansas City on Saturday at Plaza Tennis Center, the Pioneers' fourth straight sweep of a Summit League opponent and their sixth consecutive league win.
 
Denver didn't drop a set in any of its matches, singles or doubles.
 
Doubles:
DU began the day with wins on the first and third courts to capture the doubles point, led by Britt Pursell and Camille Verden-Anderson's 6-1 victory on court one. Tatum Burger and Andrea Burguete Beltran clinched the point with a 6-4 win on court three.
 
Pursell and Verden-Anderson are now 11-5 this year while Burger and Burguete Beltran improved to 4-3.
 
Singles:
Pursell's second win of the day came on singles court 3, a 6-3 6-1 win to earn the first singles point. The junior now owns a team-best 12-5 record on the year.
 
Summit League Player of the Week Anna Riedmiller followed on court two, winning 6-4 6-3 and improving to 7-4 overall.
 
Denver's third singles point came from two 6-2 set wins from Verden-Anderson on court 4 for her 10th singles win. Taylor Melville won 6-1 6-4 on court one, bringing her season record to 7-7.
 
Toni Nelson extended her winning streak to nine with a 6-2 6-4 win on court six to put Denver up 6-0. Burguete Beltran sealed the DU sweep after winning on court five 7-5 6-4 and moving to 10-4 on the season.
