DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team dropped its match at Pepperdine 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
With the loss, Denver dropped to 14-9 to end head coach
Paul Wardlaw's first season with the Crimson and Gold, after the Pioneers lifted both the Summit League regular season and tournament trophies this season.
Doubles:
Pepperdine took 6-0 wins on courts one and three to take the early advantage with the doubles point.
Singles:
The Wave earned their singles decisions on courts one, four and five to close out the 4-0 win.
Taylor Melville had a 4-3 lead in the second set on court two, the Pioneers closest match when things wrapped up on the other courts.
