DU Women’s Soccer Closes Non-Conference Schedule at [RV] Colorado

Denver concludes five-match road trip on Saturday with fourth Pac-12 opponent

LAST TIME OUT:
Graduate student Sami Feller scored twice to lift Denver to a 2-1 victory at Colorado State on September 11. Feller got the Pioneers on the board in the fifth minute before scoring the game winner at the 89:19 mark, the fourth latest regulation winner in program history.
 
QUICK HITS:
  • Feller became the first player in Denver's Division I history to score in both the first five minutes and the last five minutes of the same match in DU's game against CSU.
  • Junior Megan Prazich had the assist on Feller's second goal, marking the defender's first career point.
  • After her two-goal performance at Colorado State, Feller was named the Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, the third such award of her career.
  • Through the first four matches of Denver's five-match road trip, sophomore Ella Frost leads the team with eight shots. Feller is second with six shots, and both graduate student Camryn MacMillan and sophomore Delaney McGowan have five shots.
  • Saturday's match is Denver's final of a five-match road trip and its fourth against a Pac-12 opponent – three of which came on the road.
SCOUTING THE BUFFALOES:
Colorado dropped a 2-4 decision at Michigan State on September 11. CU had the match's first and final goals (Shyra James [9'], Kayleigh Webb [90']). Goalkeeper Dani Hansen had a season-best nine saves.
 
The Buffs received votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll after being ranked No. 19 last week.
 
DU is 8-17-1 all-time against Colorado with CU winning the last 10 matches. Denver's most recent victory was a 3-0 shutout at home on September 15, 2013. DU last beat CU in Boulder on September 11, 2011, in a 1-0 win.
 
WHAT'S NEXT:
Denver returns home to begin its Summit League schedule when it hosts North Dakota State on Thursday, September 23, at 7 p.m. MT.
