Denver Opens Year with 4-Over First Round at Falcon Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS – The University of Denver men's golf team started its 2022-23 season on Friday at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational. The Pioneers closed out the first round of the year tied for eighth at 4-over (292).

Significant Stats:
- Colorado State leads the 24-team field at 5-under through opening-round action.
- Davis Bryant of the Rams sits atop the leader board at 5-under, one shot ahead of the field.
- The Crimson and Gold's Esteban Missura put himself in the hunt early, finishing tied for sixth at 3-under (69).
Inside the Round for the Pioneers:
- Brady Arnett closed out the first 18 holes of the year tied for 34th at 1-over.
- Alexander Gibalevich and John Williams each wrapped up their days tied for 55th at 3-over (75).
- Carson Griggs is tied for 70th through one day of play at 4-over.

Round two of the tournament is set for Saturday.
