BALTIMORE – The University of Denver men's lacrosse program put two student-athletes on the 2023 USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Men's Preseason All-America List, the publication announced on Tuesday. Attackman JJ Sillstrop and close defender Jack DiBenedetto earned the preseason honor for the Pios.
 
Sillstrop was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List in 2022 and earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors. The Encinitas, California, native played and started in all 15 games, finishing with 48 points on 30 goals and 18 assists. A year ago, Sillstrop got off to a hot start scoring at least four goals in each of Denver's first three games, including five at Duke.
 
DiBenedetto was also an All-BIG EAST First Team selection a year ago. The Buffalo, New York, native played and started in all 15 games, picking up 16 ground balls and forcing 11 turnovers. DiBenedetto is one of four captains for the Pioneers in 2023.
