Denver's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Pioneers faced a 58-37 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Denver took advantage of two Omaha turnovers in the quarter, scoring three points off of takeaways.

Denver kept the Mavericks from increasing their lead before going on a 6-0 run, finished off by Brandon's three, to shrink the deficit to 62-47 with 6:13 to go in the contest. The Pioneers kept their comeback going, but Omaha managed to hold on for the 75-64 win. Denver fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down four shots to account for 12 of its 27 points.
