DU Women’s Soccer Hosts Kansas City in Regular-Season Home Finale

Denver set for week’s only match in penultimate week of Summit League play

WHAT: Denver's final regular-season home match
WHERE: University of Denver Soccer Stadium (Denver, Colorado)
WHEN: Thursday, October 12, at 7 p.m. MT

LAST TIME OUT:
Denver secured its second-straight two-goal win over a Summit League opponent with its 3-1 victory against South Dakota on October 8. Junior Samantha Dreiling began the scoring in the ninth minute while graduate student Kaitlyn Glover added a second DU goal just about 10 minutes later. USD scored late in the first half, but junior Riley Baker gave Denver the two-goal lead again in the 64th minute.

QUICK HITS:
  • With her play against South Dakota, Glover moved up in the DU Division I record books and is now:

    • In sole possession for ninth-most goals scored (28)
    • Tied for ninth-most career points (73)
    • Tied for fourth-most games played (89)
  • Glover and senior Megan Prazich gave DU a sweep of the Summit League weekly awards for last week's performances – the first Denver sweep since Week 3 of the 2020 season.
  • For the first time this season, two Denver student-athletes each had a goal and an assist in a single match in Dreiling and Glover against South Dakota.
  • Entering the second-to-last week of the regular season, Denver is the lone remaining undefeated team in Summit League play and leads the League in goals (32) and shots (232).
  • Glover and freshman Liv Moritz both rank among the top four in the Summit League for goals (6) and points (16).
SCOUTING THE ROOS:
This will be the fifth all-time meeting between Denver and Kansas City with DU holding a 4-0 record. Denver won, 2-0, in their last meeting at Kansas City on October 23, 2022. KC last visited Denver on October 15, 2021, in a 6-1 win for DU.

The Roos came back after being down 1-0 at halftime against St. Thomas at home on October 5, scoring twice late in the second half to earn its first Summit League win of the year. Gigi Mir found the equalizer in the 74th minute before Brianna Castlebury put Kansas City ahead with 19 seconds left in the match.
