The Pioneers then added two points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 48-26 advantage. Denver did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 24 of its 48 points close to the basket.

Following intermission, Denver kept widening that lead, expanding it to 66-38 before going on an 11-0 run, finished off by Garff's three, to grow the lead to 77-38 with 10:55 to go in the contest. The Eagles narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Pioneers still cruised the rest of the way for the 90-57 win. Denver got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 26 of its 42 total points.
