DENVER – In an effort to continue to speed up entry to events and maintain the safest possible environment for attendees, University of Denver Athletics has announced a new clear bag policy that will go into effect this fall to align with the start of the 2023-24 athletic season for all events at the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness.
DU Athletics will permit clear bags that are no larger than 12"x 6"x 12". Guests entering with a medical or child-care bag will be an exception to the policy and permitted after proper inspection. Small clutches, wristlets and wallets, not larger than 4.5"x 6.5", will be permitted.
Denver Athletics reserves the right to administer each occurrence on a case-by-case basis. DU Athletics does not have the ability to hold or check items for guests. All clear bags are subject to inspection upon entry into the venue(s). Please plan accordingly.
Season ticket holders will be communicated with directly should they qualify for the free DU clear bag benefit. While the policy does not go into effect until next season, bag pick-up for qualifying season ticket holders will begin this weekend during the DU Hockey versus Minnesota-Duluth series. Season ticket holders will receive an email with details. With a priority on sustainability, these new branded bags are also great for use at applicable grocery and retail stores.
Lastly, as a reminder, outside food or drinks are prohibited at all athletic events.
Thank you in advance for your support of our incredible DU student-athletes and for your adherence to this policy.
