DENVER – The University of Denver hockey team ranks No. 3 in both national polls after the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine released their latest rankings on Monday.
Denver moved up one spot from No. 4 last week with a pair of victories over North Dakota. DU won 5-3 on Friday and 5-2 on Saturday. The Pioneers received seven first-place votes in the USCHO.com poll and one in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine ranking. DU has been in the top five all season.
In the Pairwise computer rankings that determine the field for the national tournament, Denver presently ranks fourth overall behind Minnesota, Quinnipiac and Michigan.
The NCHC has four schools in the rankings, as St. Cloud State is at No. 6, Western Michigan is at No. 8 and Omaha is at No. 15. North Dakota also received votes in both polls.

About the USCHO.com Poll: The rankings are compiled weekly and consists of 50 voters, including coaches and media professionals from across the country.
About the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll: The rankings are conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey.
