Denver Falls to South Dakota State

The Pioneers will head to South Dakota on Saturday afternoon

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The University of Denver women's basketball team fell to South Dakota State 82-34 on Thursday night in Frost Arena.
 
Makayla Minett led the Pioneers (11-16, 7-9) with 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Madelyn Atkins chipped in as well with six points from the bench.
 
Led by Minett's six offensive rebounds, Denver did crashed the offensive glass, pulling down 13 boards that resulted in 10 second chance points.
 
GAME NOTES:

  • Makayla Minett finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal.
    • Minett had double figures for the ninth time this season and the 13th time in her career.
    • Minett moved into fifth on Denver's single-season list for blocked shots with 66 on the season.
    • Minett has 120 career blocks, one block off third in Denver's DI history.
  • Emma Smith had four steals on Thursday.
    • Smith had 3+ steals for the second time in her career.
