Olsen, Papajcik collect singles wins on Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Denver men's tennis team (5-5) finished February with a 5-2 loss at No. 57-ranked Utah om Saturday.

Doubles:
Utah won the doubles point with match 6-4 wins on Courts 1 and 3. DU's No. 2 doubles team of junior Nicolas Herrero Cuesta and redshirt senior Anish Sriniketh were sitting on a 5-4 score line when the match was left unfinished.

Singles:
DU's first point of the day came in No. 4 singles with a straight-sets win for graduate student Conner Olsen.

Denver forced three sets on three of the five remaining courts including freshman Raffaello Papajcik in No. 6 singles. After dropping the first set, he rallied for a 6-3 win in the second before ending up in a third-set tiebreak, which he took 7-3. The freshman is now a team-best 5-0 in singles on the season.

Junior Peter Sallay also forced a tiebreak in the third set during his No. 3 singles match. He lost the first set but answered with a 6-1 win in the second before falling in a tight 7-5 breaker.
