LINCOLN, Neb. – The University of Denver women's golf team opened its title defense in style on Sunday at the Summit League Championship. The Pioneers lead the field through 18 holes, posing a team score of 286 (2-over).

- The Pioneers had 11 birdies on the day, good for second most in the round.

Anna Zanusso is tied with South Dakota State's Alex Kandolin at 1-under.
Inside the Round for the Pioneers:
- Zanusso's low round was key for the Pioneers as she recorded three birdies, with two coming on the back nine while posting a 33 during that stretch.

Alyson Bean, Clara Geststdottir and
Anna Krekling each are tied for fourth place after shooting 72 (1-over) in their respective rounds.

Emma Bryant is tied for 25th at 6-over.
