Four Denver Golfers Named to Summit League Academic All-League Teams

Pioneers get three on women’s side and one on the men’s side
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The University of Denver men's and women's golf teams had a total of four players recognized for their success off the course and in the classroom on Tuesday.
Anna Zanusso, Anna Krekling, Clara Gestsdottir and Carson Griggs were selected to the 2023 Summit League Academic All-League Teams on the women's and men's side.
For the women, the trio of Zanusso (Finance, 3.90 GPA), Krekling (Finance, 3.89 GPA) and Gestsdottir (Business Analytics, 3.90 GPA) made the team. Both seniors Zanusso and Krekling each were repeat honorees while Gestsdottir was a first-time selection.
On the men's side, Griggs (Communications Management, 4.0 GPA) was the league's lone repeat member. The fifth-year player made the team for a fourth straight season.
Student-athletes are nominated by their respective sports information directors (SIDs) and then voted on by a panel composed of faculty athletics representatives from each university and SIDs.
In order to be considered for the academic all-league golf team, a student-athlete: must have at least a 3.3 cumulative career grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale); must have completed at least one full academic year (two semesters, three quarters) at the current institution; and must have participated in 50 percent of their team's completed competitions.
