DENVER – University of Denver Men's Basketball head coach Jeff Wulbrun continued to fill out his roster on Wednesday, adding incoming senior Isaiah Addo-Ankrah to the roster for the upcoming 2023-24 year.
"We're very excited about the addition of Isaiah to our program," Wulbrun said. "We're adding an experienced player and another proven shooter, as he's just under 40 percent from 3 and over 93 percent from the free throw line in his collegiate career.
"At 6-7 he's extremely versatile, giving him the ability to play and guard multiple positions. Additionally, I think Isaiah will make his presence felt on the offensive glass and attacking the rim off the bounce. He is goal oriented and has demonstrated a work ethic, desire, and determination to chase excellence in all he does. He is a two-time recipient of both the Conference USA Commissioner's Medal and the C-USA Academic Honor Roll. He will be a graduate student with two years of eligibility for us at DU."
A 6-foot-7 guard from Houston Texas, Addo-Ankrah comes to Denver after spending the past three seasons at UTSA. While with the Roadrunners, he appeared in 50 career games, making 15 starts. He posted his best season to date last year, starting in 10 games and averaging 7.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and shooting 34.3 percent from beyond the arc. Addo-Ankrah presents another outside shooting threat in the DU lineup, with a career 37.4 shooting percentage (70-for-187) from 3.
In 2022-23, the Houston native notched six games in double figures, with a season-high 15 points coming at FIU in 18 minutes on Feb. 25. He also totaled six games with at least three 3s made.
