DENVER – The University of Denver hockey program had 24 players named to the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team and 12 Pioneers earned NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete recognition during the 2022-23 campaign.
To be eligible for the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average or better, while having completed at least one full academic year at their current institution. Student-athletes that have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better are honored as NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athletes, in addition to Academic All-Conference.
The NCHC announced its initial lists of 117 total student-athletes on Feb. 22 before an additional 67 players that were freshman or first-year transfers were added to the list on Friday. In total 174 players were named to the Academic All-Conference Team, with 105 also earning Distinguished Scholar-Athlete honors. Freshmen and first-year transfers were not eligible when the honors were first announced as they had not completed a full academic year. Athletic success and playing time are not criteria for these awards.
