DENVER –The University of Denver men's soccer program finished third in NCAA Division I men's soccer in grade point average in the 2022-23 academic year, United Soccer Coaches announced on Wednesday.
Denver finished with a 3.65 grade point average, 0.08 off the top ranking in the country.
Under Jack and Sheila Weinberg head men's soccer coach Jamie Franks, the Pioneers have finished in the top-3 spots in the country academically in each of the last eight seasons, including claiming the top spot nationally in five of those campaigns.
Denver was one of 183 athletic departments across all divisions to have both their men's and women's teams earn the USC Team Academic Award this week.
The Pioneers have earned the team academic award in each of the last 15 seasons.
Season Opener:
The Pioneers will open the regular season on a six-match homestand, starting with San Diego State's visit in the season opener on Thursday, August 24. The match will be streamed live on the Summit League Network.
