LAST TIME OUT:
Denver opened its 2023 campaign with a 1-1 draw against Colorado State at home on August 17. DU trailed at halftime, but freshman Liv Moritz found the equalizer in the 51^st minute off. Junior Samantha Dreiling, who made her DU debut on Thursday, had the assist on Moritz's goal.
 
QUICK HITS:

• Moritz became the fourth DU freshman to score in a season opener (DU's Division I era) and the first since Jocelyn Loomis in 2014.
  • Kristen Hamilton (2010) and Leslie Montgomery (1998) joined Moritz in not only scoring as freshmen in a season opener but also netting an equalizer.
• Molly Wissman became the fifth Denver freshman to start in goal in a season opener and the first since Brittany Wilson in 2016.
• Denver flipped the script against CSU on Thursday in the second half. After being outshot 11-2 in the first half, DU led the second-half shot count, 7-6.
• Three DU freshmen made their collegiate debuts in the season opener: Moritz and Wissman as starters, and Michaela McGowan as a first-half substitute.
• Sunday is Denver's second of four non-conference matches against in-state opponents. DU hosted Colorado State on Thursday and will host Northern Colorado (August 31) and Colorado (September 15).

 
SCOUTING THE TIGERS:
This will be the 14^th meeting between Denver and Colorado College with the teams all even on a 6-6-1 record. The teams last played in a neutral-site match held in Boulder, Colorado, on August 19, 2018. CC came away with a 2-0 win in that match.
 
It has been nearly a decade since Denver last made the trip to Colorado College when CC edged out a 3-2 win over DU at home on August 24, 2014.
 
WHAT'S NEXT:
DU heads to the state of Wisconsin for two matches, visiting Marquette on August 24 before play at Milwaukee on August 27. DU will return home to Denver on August 31 to host Northern Colorado.
