WHO: Denver (0-0-3, 0-0-0 Summit) at [RV/-] Milwaukee (2-1-0, 0-0-0 Horizon)
WHAT: Second match of 2023 Milwaukee Challenge Cup tournament
WHERE: Engelmann Stadium (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)
WHEN: Sunday, August 27, at 1 p.m. CT/12 p.m. MT

ABOUT MILWAUKEE CHALLENGE CUP:
Denver joins host Marqutte, Milwaukee and Minnesota in the 2023 Milwaukee Challenge Cup, set for August 24-27. DU will face both Wisconsin teams, first Marquette on Thursday and then Milwaukee on Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT:
Denver and Marquette opened the 2023 Milwaukee Challenge Cup with a 0-0 draw on Thursday night following a weather delay of approximately two and a half hours. Junior Riley Baker led Denver with four of the team's 13 shot attempts while senior Jordan Crockett and junior Samantha Dreiling each had a match-best two shots on target.

QUICK HITS:
  • Thursday marked the first time in DU's Division I history that the team posted three consecutive draws. Previously, the team had only finished with back-to-back ties twice (September 30-October 5, 2012; and September 6-8, 2002).
  • Over the last two matches, DU has outshot its opponents 36-11.
  • Freshman and starting goalkeeper Molly Wissman secured the first cleansheet of her career on Thursday, making two saves for the second match in a row.
  • Baker and Crockett either set or tied career bests for shots in a single match (four and two, respectively) against Marquette.
  • With sophomore Isabella Chidiac making her season debut as a first-half substitute on Thursday, a total of 19 DU student-athletes have now seen playing time so far this year.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS:
This will be the first all-time meeting between Denver and Milwaukee – as was also the case between DU and Marquette on Thursday night.

Milwaukee opened the weekend's tournament with a 1-0 win over Minnesota on Thursday, earning a 33rd-minute goal from Jenni Andjelic, the first goal of the sophomore's career. MKE is 2-0-1 on the season, opening with a 2-2 draw at Notre Dame and then topping SIUE, 3-1.

WHAT'S NEXT:
DU returns to Denver for its first of three consecutive home matches when it welcomes Northern Colorado on Thursday, August 31, at 7 p.m. MT.
