LA JOLLA, CA --The Denver volleyball team lost to the Navy Midshipmen 3-0 (14-25, 22-25, 16-25) Friday at LionTree Arena.
The non-conference loss moved Denver to 0-4 on the season.
Cassie Davis finished with 10 kills on the day to lead the Pioneers offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .25. got 8 digs from Alayna Finucan to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pioneers found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-14. Denver trailed by as many as 12 points as Navy grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up just once before the Midshipmen took control.
SET 2 | Denver then lost set two 25-22 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Pioneers battled back from a seven-point 22-15 hole, but Navy hung on to take the set.
SET 3 | Denver couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Pioneers lost a tough set 25-16. Denver trailed by as many as 12 points as Navy grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was knotted up just once before the Midshipmen took over the lead.
