LA JOLLA, CA --The Denver volleyball team could not overcome a dynamic Tritons offense Saturday on the road, falling to UC San Diego in three sets (23-25, 28-30, 22-25).
The loss moved Denver to 0-6 on the season.
The Pioneers offense was paced by Cassie Davis, who finished with 13 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .44, and by MacKenzie Fidelak, who had 11. The Pios got nine digs from Gianna Bartalo to lead them defensively.

SET 2 | Denver then dropped the second set 30-28 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Pioneers fell in a close second set, losing in a stanza that was tied nine times and had three lead changes.
SET 3 | Denver couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Pioneers dropped the set 25-22 despite a strong showing on the attacking end. Denver put together a .387 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set loss.
