DENVER – University of Denver fifth-year guard Tommy Bruner has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Basketball Co-Peak Performer of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Bruner had 25 points in the Pioneers conference-opening win at Omaha on Friday evening to go with eight assists and a steal. The eight assists ties a career-high that he's matched three times this season.
The fifth-year guard added 32 points in the Pioneers overtime loss to Oral Roberts on New Year's Eve in Hamilton Gymnasium, pairing that scoring performance with another five assists and two steals.
Bruner has 30+ points in four games this season and 20+ points in four-straight and 10 out of 15 games in 2023-24.
In the season as a whole, Bruner continues to lead the country in points per game, averaging 24.7 a contest. Bruner is also first in free-throw makes (105) and second in field goals made (115).

The entire league will take a break from conference play this week and each play two games in the 2023-24 Big Sky/Summit League Challenge. Denver will host Idaho State on Wednesday in the second game of a women's and men's double header scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m. MT in Hamilton Gymnasium.
