LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of Denver women's tennis team will have representatives in both the singles and doubles quarterfinals of the 2024 ITA Mountain Regional Championships, hosted by New Mexico State, following play on Saturday.
 
Senior Andrea Burguete Beltran moved into both quarterfinals, first by way of a three-set win in singles and then again with doubles partner Marley Lambert.
 
Burguete Beltran started her round of 16 singles win with a victory in a marathon first-set tiebreak, claiming a 16-14 win. She regrouped after dropping the second set to win the third and book a spot in the quarterfinals.
 
Three Denver doubles teams played in the round of 16 on Saturday with the No. 6-seeded duo of Burguete Beltran/Lambert claiming an 8-4 win over a No. 9 seed from Montana State. DU's teams of juniors Claudia Martinez de Velasco and Louise Wikander, and junior Hana Bečirovič Novak and freshman Natálie Cinková both lost their matches to higher-seeded teams.
 
Play continues at the 2024 ITA Mountain Regional Championships on Sunday with the quarterfinals in both singles and doubles.
