LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Two University of Denver women's tennis players have advanced into both of the singles and doubles finals at the 2024 ITA Mountain Regional Championships, hosted by New Mexico State.
 
Senior Andrea Burguete Beltran will play for both titles after winning her singles semifinal and joining junior Marley Lambert in winning their doubles semifinal on Monday.
 
By way of her appearance in the singles final, Burguete Beltran has earned an automatic berth to the 2024 NCAA Singles Championship, set for November 19-24. Burguete Beltran and Lambert will have the chance to secure an NCAA doubles spot with a win in Tuesday's final.
 
Monday began with No. 6-seeded DU doubles team defeating the No. 2-seeded Dutta/Safarova from Boise State, 6-4 6-4. The Pioneers saved four break points at 3-4 in the second before winning the final two games en route to their victory.
 
Burguete Beltran/Lambert will play Bubalo/Nelson from Colorado in Tuesday's championship match, who won their semifinal on Monday, 6-3 6-4.
 
This is the second year in a row that Denver has had a doubles team advance to the regional final after Burguete Beltran and then-graduate student Britt Pursell won the title by way of a walkover in 2023.
 
Less than two hours after completing the doubles match, Burguete Beltran returned to the court for her singles semifinal and rolled through it in straight sets, defeating Colorado's Rixt Van Der Werff, 6-2 6-1. The Denver senior converted six of seven break opportunities while fending off all three break points on her serve during the match.

In the final, Burguete Beltran will face No. 9 seed Zdena Safarova from Boise State, who won her semifinal, 6-3 6-2.
 
The 2024 ITA Mountain Regional Championship concludes on Tuesday with the singles and doubles semifinals.
