Raising #TENver Highlights Sold Out Weekend at Magness Arena

What a great weekend of DU Athletics and Homecoming events! The atmosphere all weekend in and around the Ritchie Center was buzzing for hockey, soccer and volleyball. That energy fueled the competition on the ice to earn our hockey program a top-20 sweep. Moreover, this homecoming weekend was about celebrating our record setting 10th national championship, and to do that in-front of two of the largest crowds in Magness history, especially the record-setting crowd on banner night, is a moment that will live on in#TENver history. At 4-0 through our first two series, the campaign for 11 is truly on, and we’re looking forward to hosting an old WCHA rival this weekend. Get your tickets early and we’ll see you in Magness for the Wisconsin series.

LEADING UP TO THE BANNER RAISING

FRIDAY NIGHT HOCKEY

Friday night's Denver Hockey home opener was played in-front of a sellout crowd of 6,837, the third largest in school history (moved to fourth after Saturday) and the largest sellout in a home opener in the history of Magness Arena. That crowd included nearly 20% students, a Magness Arena record.

BANNER NIGHT

Saturday night's 5-2 sweep-completing win over Northeastern saw the Pios raise their record-setting 10th National Championship banner into the rafters of Magness Arena. For the banner raising night, Denver set its single game and series weekend attendance records, playing in-front of 7,051 on Saturday. Former Pio captain McKade Webster and Sean Behrens returned to the ice for the ceremonial puck drop following the banner raising.
