DENVER – University of Denver skiing announced today the program's collegiate schedule for the 2025 season in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association.
The Pioneers kick off their campaign in Alaska at the U.S. Cross Country National Championship just after the New Year, and they aim to add to their record 24 national titles at the NCAA Championships in early March in New Hampshire.
Overall, Denver and the RMISA squads will compete in eight invitational meets and two extra alpine qualifier races.
The annual DU Invitational will be split up about a month apart in early January and February. Alpine begins the invite with an extra qualifying slalom race on Jan. 6 before the meet starts in full on Jan. 7 with the same discipline at Loveland Ski Area on the Continental Divide. Giant slalom wraps up the alpine sessions at Copper Mountain Ski Resort near Frisco on Jan. 8. The Nordic races of the DU meet are set for Feb. 8-9 at Maloit Park in Minturn. The 7.5-kilometer classic interval start begins the cross-country events in the Vail Valley before the meet's conclusion with the 10K freestyle pursuit the next day.
The five DU-hosted races will be the only ones in the state of Colorado on the RMISA circuit this season, as the teams will be making two trips to Alaska for three separate meets.
The 2025 season begins on Jan. 2-4 at the U.S. Cross Country National Championships in Kincaid Park in Anchorage, which will also double as the Alaska Anchorage Seawolf Invitational. The Nordic racers will return to America's Last Frontier for the Nordic-only UAF Nanook Invitational in Fairbanks on Feb. 16-17 before the athletes head back south to Anchorage.
The UAA Invite will stretch nearly the entire season, as alpine will race at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood on Feb. 19-21 to conclude the meet. The RMISA Championships/NCAA Western Regionals are set to be held over the course of three days on Feb. 20-22 in the Anchorage area. Alpine GS begins the conference meet on Feb. 20 and the 7.5K classic is set for Feb. 21 at Kincaid Park. Regionals conclude on Feb. 22 with the Nordic 20K freestyle mass start and alpine slalom.
Utah and Montana State will also host invitationals in a busy schedule that will feature a stretch of four meets going on concurrently in the middle of the season. Nordic will race at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway to start the Utah Invitational on Jan. 18-19 before the cross country skiers head to Bozeman to begin the MSU Invite at Crosscut Mountain sports Center on Jan. 24-26.
The Montana State Invitational concludes on Feb. 3-4 with the alpine events at Bridger Bowl Ski Area, which will lead right to the end of the UU Invite on Feb. 8-9 at Olympic Park in Park City. Utah will host the second alpine qualifier during the year on Feb. 7 with a giant slalom event.
The races in Bozeman will serve as a preview for next season's nationals, as the 2026 NCAA Championships will be hosted by MSU at Bridger Bowl and Crosscut Mountain.
Dartmouth College is the host of this year's national championships out east, with alpine events at Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme Center, New Hampshire, and Nordic at Oak Hill Outdoor Center in nearby in Hanover. Alpine once again kicks off the NCAA Championships with giant slalom on Saturday, March 5 before Nordic begins with the 7.5K classic interval start on March 6. Slalom is set for Friday, March 7 and the national championships conclude on Saturday, March 8 with the Nordic 20K freestyle mass start.
