DENVER – University of Denver hockey officially unveiled on Saturday the hockey program's 75th Anniversary jersey that the team will wear numerous times during the 2024-25 season.
 
The jersey was first revealed in the third period of the Pioneers' game against Wisconsin on Friday night at Magness Arena. The sweater went exclusively on-sale to students today at 10 a.m. at the DU Bookstore on-campus location.
 
Denver's 75th Anniversary sweater will be available to the general public at Magness Arena Pioneer Shops during Saturday's game against Wisconsin. Doors open at 5 p.m. for the 6 p.m. MT puck drop.
 
The jersey will also be available at the DU Bookstore starting on Monday. Only in-person purchases are being accepted at this time.
 
The Pioneers will wear the uniform for the first time on Saturday, Nov. 9 during the program's 75th Anniversary Weekend against Lindenwood. Alumni from each decade of Denver hockey will be in attendance to celebrate the program's diamond jubilee.
 
Denver's jersey is a throwback to the one that was originally worn by the squad when the program first began play in the 1949-50 season. The red sweater, breezer, socks, gloves and helmet are trimmed with yellow, the school's original color palette. Six yellow strips are displayed on the  jersey sleeves and socks.
 
The original interlocking DU is featured just below the left shoulder on the front of the sweater, while the player's number is prominently displayed just above a solid yellow stripe in the middle of the uniform. Denver's 75th Anniversary and NCHC patches are featured on the shoulders while the text "Always A Pioneer" is proudly highlighted on the inner collar.
 
Denver is honoring 75 years of history throughout this season. The Pioneers' first game was Dec. 19, 1949 against Saskatchewan and their first victory was Jan. 27, 1950 at Wyoming.
