Maeda and Morsy Earn Peak Performer of the Week Honors

Jessica Maeda earned the sixth weekly award of her career, while Zyad Morsy earned his eighth award in his third season with the Pioneers
DENVER – University of Denver senior women's swimmer Jessica Maeda and senior men's diver Zyad Morsy were named Summit League Peak Performers of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Maeda's award is the sixth of her career, while Morsy earned his eighth.
On the swimming side, Maeda won the 200 breast and was a part of two third-place finishing medley relays, finished third in the 200 IM and third in the 100 breast in a five-team field at the 2024 Front Range Invite.
Morsy won the platform dive with an NCAA Zone cut of 282.20 at the three-team Front Range Invite. He also won the men's 3-meter dive (353.15) and finished third in the men's 1-meter dive (273.80).

Denver will leave the state of Colorado for the first time next weekend and head to Bakersfield, California. On Friday, October 11, Denver will compete in the Sprint Classic (2 p.m. MT). Then on Saturday, October 12, the Pioneers will take part in the Roadrunner Invite (11 a.m. MT).
The Pioneers will open their home calendar on Saturday, October 19, when Denver hosts Washington State and Air Force (Swimming 11 a.m./Diving 3:30 p.m.).
