Kent Anderson is in his third season with the University of Denver hockey team and has become a staple on the defense since making his debut with the Pioneers as a freshman in 2022-23.
 
In his sophomore campaign with DU in 2023-24, he surpassed his career high with three goals, five assists and eight points while playing in 41-of-44 games with the Pioneers. He scored his first career goals by recording two in the season opener at Alaska Fairbanks on Oct. 7, 2023.
 
Anderson was recognized with the 2024 NCAA Elite 90 Award for achieving the highest cumulative grade-point average among all players at the Frozen Four. He was named a ACHA All-American Scholar, a member of the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team and NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.  Anderson also received the honor this past summer of being named to the 2024 CSC All-American Second Team and the CSC Academic All-District Team. 
 
Before coming to DU, Anderson appeared in 62 games in the 2021-22 with the Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League. He recorded 28 points (2g/26a) and 18 penalty minutes during his lone season with the Gamblers, where he was also named to the USHL All-Rookie Second Team.

"It's an excellent hockey program with a winning culture and surrounded by great people."  
 
What is your earliest memory of ice skating? 

"My family taking me out to the outdoor rink on Christmas Day when I was 6 years old."  
  
What are some of your favorite activities to do when you're not at the rink? 

"I enjoy golf, tennis and playing cards."  
 
What are your plans for the future? 

"I want to play pro hockey."  
 
If you weren't playing hockey, what sport would you play? 

"Baseball because I played growing up, and I love the environment of ballparks." 
 
What kind of music do you like? 

"Country."  
 
What is your go-to pre-game meal?  

"Chicken, rice, broccoli and soup."

"'Show me the money' - Jerry Maguire."

"Suits."

"I bring a different hockey card to the rink every game." 
 
What are some of your favorite spots in Colorado? 

"I like going to Colorado Rockies and Colorado Avalanche games." 
 
What is something that other people might not know about you? 

"I had a small part in a Netflix show."
