KANSAS CITY, MO --Ava Reynolds, Cassie Davis and Molly Mirabelli each put up double-doubles, but the Denver volleyball team fell to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, 3-2, (25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 18-25, 10-15) on Monday.
The loss moved Denver to 13-15 on the season.
The Pioneers were led by double-doubles from Davis, who had 11 kills and 18 digs, Reynolds, who had 14 kills and 11 digs, and Mirabelli, who had 15 kills and 11 blocks. Jamia Johnson also added 11 kills to help the offense. Alayna Finucan chipped in for with 19 digs.

SET 1 | The Pioneers persevered past a furious South Dakota State rally in the first set, hanging on to win 25-23 after leading by seven points at 8-1 earlier in the set. got a solid defensive performance from a front row that blocked five South Dakota State attacks in the stanza.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Denver put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-22 victory in set number two. The Pioneers survived a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured three lead changes and was tied nine times. Neither team led by more than three points along the way. Denver's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four South Dakota State attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Denver saw its bid for a 3-0 sweep end when South Dakota State took set three. The Pioneers dropped the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before losing the set 25-22.
SET 4 | Denver then dropped their second straight set 25-18 to brind the match level at two sets apiece. The Pioneers trailed by as many as eight points as South Dakota State grabbed the advantage for good at 4-3 and Denver wasn't able to recover in a set that was knotted up three times before the Jackrabbits took over.
SET 5 | Denver grabbed a 2-0 set lead, but couldn't take another set on their way to losing the match. The Pioneers had a lead early in the set at 10-10 before South Dakota State took over.
