TULSA – The University of Denver men's basketball program trailed by as many as 18 in the first half, led by as many as 10 in the second half but ultimately fell to Oral Roberts 82-76 on Saturday night in the Mabee Center.
Tommy Bruner's 22 and Jaxon Brenchley's 20 led the Pioneers (13-11, 4-5) in the contest. Bruner tacked on four assists and two steals and Brenchley added three steals. Pedro Lopez Sanvicente also helped out with six points, six rebounds and three steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
ORU opened the game on a 24-6 run in the first half, including a 10-0 start to the contest and took a 44-34 lead into halftime.
Starting with the final three points of the second half, Denver went on a 25-4 run before the first media timeout to take a 10-point lead early in the second half. Denver started the stanza 7-for-7 from the field including three triples in the spurt. Oral Roberts re-asserted control, outscoring the Pioneers 34-18 the rest of the way to hand Denver the 82-76 loss. Denver shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting six shots from deep to score 18 of its 42 points.
