No. 36 DU Men’s Tennis Set for In-State Match at Air Force

Denver looks to extend unbeaten start to 2024 season on Saturday

DENVER – The No. 36-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team (13-0, 0-0 Summit) will continue its three-match road trip with a visit to Air Force on Saturday, March 16, at 12 p.m. MT.

DU is looking to extend its Division I program-record 13-0 unbeaten start to the 2024 season with Saturday's match.

Last Time Out:
Denver captured its sixth road win of the season with a 5-4 victory at New Mexico on March 10. DU claimed the doubles point before winning four of the first five singles matches to finish, clinching the win at 4-1. UNM took the final two points with a retirement at No. 3 singles and a 10-point tiebreak at No. 1 singles.

DU graduate student Marvin Schaber played roles in clinching both the doubles point for DU with a tiebreak win at No. 2 doubles before securing the dual victory for Denver with a straight-sets win at No. 2 singles – just his second time playing in that slot for DU. He was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week following the UNM match for the first time in his career.

Series History:
Air Force: DU is 19-4 against Air Force with the teams playing at least once in each of the last seven seasons. The Falcons snuck out a 4-3 win in their most recent meeting in Denver on February 3, 2023, though DU owns 6-1 and 7-0 wins in the two matches before that, both hosted by AFA on February 11, 2022, and February 27, 2021.

Up Next:
The University of Denver men's tennis team wraps up a three-match road trip at Cal Poly on Sunday, March 24, before hosting Nevada in a rare mid-week match at Denver Tennis Park on Tuesday, March 26.
