PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Denver Pioneers women's golf team shot 1-under to end the first round of the PING/ASU Invitational in seventh place.

Northwestern and Arizona State are tied for the team lead at 7-under followed by Stanford at 5-under. Four golfers are tied for first at 4-under: Gile Bite Starkute (Arizona), Ellie Bushnell (Oklahoma State), Ashley Yun (Northwestern), Constance Fouillet (California).
The second round of play will begin at 8 a.m. Friday at the Papago Golf Course in Phoenix, Arizona.
