DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball team has signed Nicholas Shogbonyo, adding him to the roster for the 2024-25 season, head coach Jeff Wulbrun announced on Thursday.
"We are adding an explosive offensive player and an elite level defender to our DU program in Nick Shogbonyo," Wulbrun said. "Nick is an aggressive three-level scorer, extremely quick with the ball, making it hard for defenders to keep out of the paint and a very consistent three-point shooter. He takes good care of the ball and has impressed me with his ability to make the right play for the team. His contributions will be just as impactful on the defensive side of the ball. He can pressure the ball, get in passing lanes and disrupt, as he takes great pride in his defensive prowess. It is with tremendous excitement that we welcome Nick to our basketball program."
Shogbonyo joins Sebastian Akins (Concord, N.C.), Josh Pickett (Plainfield, Ill.) and Jon Mani (Los Angeles, Calif.) as newcomers on next year's roster.
