Denver Volleyball Adds Izzy Rawlings for 2025

The graduate student setter spent four seasons at Rice and will return to the sport after taking a year away.

DENVER - The University of Denver volleyball program has added graduate student setter, Izzy Rawlings, to join the Pioneers in 2025, coach Megan Pendergast announced on Wednesday.

"Izzy's decision to join our team, bringing her invaluable experience as a setter from one of the top volleyball programs in the country, speaks volumes about her commitment and passion for the sport. After choosing Denver for Grad school and then deciding to return to volleyball, Izzy exemplifies resilience and dedication. Her remarkable character and leadership skills will undeniably enrich our roster, not only enhancing our performance but also elevating our team off the court as well. Izzy is an amazing human being, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her with us."

BEFORE DENVER:
2023 (SENIOR AT RICE): Played 71 sets across 25 matches, including 10 starts… second on the team in total assists (332) and assists per set (4.68)... recorded seven matches with 20+ assists, including a career-high 47 against Long Island… added 87 digs and 11 blocks… set new career-highs of 18 digs (vs. Long Island) and five blocks (at Baylor)... recorded two double-doubles.

2022 (JUNIOR AT RICE): Played in 62 sets … had a season-high seven assists against Florida Atlantic (10/2) … recorded a career-high four service aces versus McNeese State (9/6).
 
2021 (SOPHOMORE AT RICE): Played in 22 sets...distributed a season-high 15 assists in a win over McNeese (9/17)...also had seven against in a victory against Houston Baptist (9/7).

2021 (FRESHMAN AT RICE): Played in all 47 sets as a true freshman...dished out 45 assists to go along with 16 digs...was fifth on the team with 10 service aces...named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.  

BEFORE RICE: Graduated from John Paul II High School in Plano, Texas...amassed 3,168 assists, 1068 digs, 929 kills, 300 aces and 120 blocks over her career....was named the TAPPS Setter of the Year and All-DFW leader in aces in 2018 as a junior...earned TAPPS All-State honors as both a junior and sophomore and was a three-time first team all-district honoree.
