DU Men’s Tennis Ends Run at ITA Mountain Regionals

Denver trio falls in singles quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon

Box Score LAS VEGAS – The University of Denver men's tennis team played in three of the singles quarterfinals matches at the 2025 ITA Mountain Regional Championships, hosted by UNLV, but came up short of moving into the semifinals on Sunday.
 
Unseeded sophomore Theo Coats became the first player to take a set off the No. 1 seed this week with his 6-4 win in the second set. Senior Raffaello Papajcik, too, forced a third set in his quarterfinal match, earning a late break to take the second set , 7-5. Unfortunately, both Pioneers dropped their final sets by matching 6-3 scorelines.
 
In the bottom half of the draw, No. 10-seeded sophomore Samuel Rovai fell in two sets to the No. 7 seed.
 
The University of Denver men's tennis team's fall season will continue with the Bobcat Invite on October 24-26 before the Pioneers host the Colorado Cup on October 31 – November 2.
