Prior to college, the Baxter, Minnesota, native played two seasons with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders from 2021-2023 in the United States Hockey League. He was named the USHL Defenseman of the Year in the 2022-23 campaign as he led all league players in scoring with 51 points (16g/35a).
