DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team collected eight total wins on the second day of play for the Colorado Cup at Denver Tennis Park on Saturday.
 
DU and Wyoming faced off in the second "hidden dual" of the day but only played with three of four doubles matches and seven of eight singles matches. Denver started the dual with a clean sweep of the doubles matches, three of the Pioneers' four doubles wins on the day. The team of freshman Yunfei Cai and sophomore Natalie Cinková made it a perfect day in doubles with a win in their match as part of the Colorado versus Weber State dual.
 
In singles, Denver opted to rest senior Louise Wikander and changed up its singles lineup for the day. Coming away with wins were senior Zoe Adkins for DU's best singles result on Saturday. Redshirt freshman Natali Jaiani joined her with a straight-sets win for DU's two head-to-head victories against Wyoming.
 
Cai and Cinková also played singles on behalf of Weber State to start the day off, and both earned dominant victories – Cinková with just a single game lost.
 
The day's final two matches to finish up were some of the most contentious. Both senior Hana Bečirovič Novak and redshirt freshman Remy Nguyen rallied after dropping their first sets to force deciders, but both ultimately fell in the final set.
 
The Colorado Cup features four schools – Denver, Colorado, Weber State and Wyoming – facing off in dual-style matches each day. Points are awarded for singles (1) and doubles (.5) wins for each school's two-person duos within each hidden dual. Players from Colorado State and Denver are playing on behalf of Weber State and Wyoming to create equal-size teams for the weekend.
 
The Colorado Cup concludes on Sunday with Weber State playing Wyoming at 9 a.m. and Denver taking on Colorado at approximately 11 a.m. MT at Denver Tennis Park. Admission is free.
