MATCH PROMOTIONS
Sunday is Denver's annual alumnae reunion with about 20 former DU women's soccer players expected to be in attendance. All alumnae will be recognized on the pitch during a halftime ceremony.

DU will also be honoring the University of Denver community for DU Faculty, Staff and Retiree Day.

LAST TIME OUT:
Denver earned a 3-0 shutout win against Kansas City in its Summit League home opener on October 2. All three goals were scored by first-time goal scores in collegiate play, starting with the eventual game winner from redshirt sophomore Luci Vincent in the 24th minute. Redshirt freshman Grace Dreiling scored her collegiate opener in the 40th minute, less than a minute after entering as a substitution.

Team assists leader and true senior Isabella Chidiac finally found the first goal of her collegiate career in the 66th minute.

Four more Pioneers earned points off assists.

QUICK HITS:
  • Thielbahr was named the Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week after helping lead DU to the shutout win at North Dakota and then scoring the game winner at North Dakota State.
    • She joins redshirt senior Samantha Dreiling in earning weekly recognition from the Summit League this season.
  • Chidiac and Thielbahr have each now earned at least one point in three of the last four matches following their goal and assist, respectively, against Kansas City.
  • Following Thursday's match against UMKC, 11 Pioneers have scored at least one goal this season with a total of 14 tallying at least one point.
  • Denver is currently riding a four-match win streak including three in a row against Summit League opponents.
  • In the current, though early, Summit League standings, Denver sits atop the table with nine points at 3-0-0. Oral Roberts is in second with six points (2-0-0).
    • Only Denver, Omaha (1-1-1), North Dakota State (1-2-0) and North Dakota (0-1-2) have played three matches so far.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES:
Denver leads the head-to-head against Oral Roberts, 8-4-2, including 6-1-1 at home. The teams met at ORU in the 2024 regular season where the Golden Eagles earned a 4-2 win. DU captured a 1-0 win the last time the teams played in Denver on September 23, 2023.

Oral Roberts started the week with a 2-0 win at Omaha on Thursday with goals from Genesis Helsley and Hannah Voskuhl. ORU outshot the Maveriks, 7-5, including 5-0 in the second half.

Helsley leads ORU with five goals, and Brianna Castleberry tops the roster with five assists. Julia Thasaphong, a first-team All-Summit League honoree a season ago, has a team-best 12 points. In goal, Erini Manoukaraki has 11 starts, earning seven wins and making 18 saves.

UP NEXT:
Denver finishes its three-match homestand when it hosts South Dakota State on Thursday, October 9, at 7 p.m. MT at University of Denver Soccer Stadium.
