RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of Denver men's swimming and diving team program got off to a fast start and have a pair of leads to show for it at the halfway mark of a two-day double dual with Cal Baptist and UCSB on Friday night at Lancer Aquatics Center.

EVENT BY EVENT RECAP:
Denver opened the meet with a win in the 400 medley relay when the quartet of
Quinn Collins,
Kito Campbell,
Hamish McLellan and
Matija Pantic combined for a time of 3:14.24.
In the first individual event of the night,
Joseph Hancock led Denver's men in the 1000 free, reaching the final wall in 9:13.79.
Finn Holdredge was right behind his teammate with a time of 9:26.06.
McLellan got Denver back in the win column in the 50 fly with a time of 21.76.
Campbell continued his fast start to his collegiate career with another Denver win, this time in the 100 breast in a time of 54.85.
Nico Morton rounded out the podium places for the Pioneers in the event with a time of 55.88.
Another freshman,
Gabe Jones earned Denver its second win in as many events, taking the 200 fly in 1:49.10. McLellan followed Jones' swim up with a share of the event title in the 50 free, clocking in at 20.38 in the sprint.
Closing out the opening half of the two-day double dual, was a second-place finish in the 200 free relay for McLellan, Pantic,
Luke Milburn and
Tommy Hancock, who finished the relay in 1:21.42.
