DENVER – Former University of Denver men's basketball student-athlete Harry Hollines (1965-68) has been selected for induction into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026, the committee announced on Wednesday.
Hollines, who was inducted into the University of Denver Athletics Hall of Fame in its Inaugural class in 1996, will be officially inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame on April 16, 2026. The former Pioneer was a two-time All-America selection in 1967 and 1968. Hollines holds three of the top four single-season scoring seasons in program history, averaging 25.3 in 1965-66, 25.0 in 1967-68 and 24.8 points per game in 1966-67.
The Denver homegrown talent holds Denver's career record for points per game at 25.1 per contest and is Denver's leading scorer in program history with 1,879 points to his name in his three-year collegiate career that spanned 75 appearances. Hollines made his living at the free-throw line as a Pioneer, holding Denver's career records for free-throws made (457) and free-throws attempted (579).
Hollines, who was also later named to Denver's All-20th Century Team, made the jump to the next level after his Pioneer career and played for the Phoenix Suns.
Denver opens its first season under head coach Tim Bergstraser on November 3 at Seattle. The Pioneers home opener is against UTSA on November 15 at 4 p.m. MT. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
