PROVO, Utah – The University of Denver women's tennis team will have two singles players in the quarterfinals of the 2025 ITA Mountain Regional Championships, hosted by BYU, following the third day of play on Thursday.
 
Four Pioneers entered the day still alive in the singles main draw with No. 8-seeded Louise Wikander and fellow senior Marley Lambert winning their round of 32 matches to start the day. Senior Hana Bečirovič Novak rallied from a set down with a 6-1 second set to get to a final frame but came up just short to end her run as a qualifier. Senior Zoe Adkins joined them in the round of 32 but fell in straight sets.
 
Together, Lambert and Wikander dropped just nine combined games in the round of 16, both booking spots in the quarter finals with routine wins.
 
Multiple Pioneers played added matches throughout the day as well with freshmen Ruby Hansen and Yunfei Cai picking up singles victories while Hansen teamed up with redshirt freshman Remy Nguyen for a doubles win in a tiebreak.
 
Results for select added matches were not available as of 10:30 p.m. MT on Thursday night.
 
The 2025 ITA Mountain Regional Championships continues of Friday with the doubles semifinals, and singles quarterfinals and semifinals. Matches are set to begin at 9 a.m. MT.
