LOS ANGELES – The University of Denver men's tennis team won eight of its nine matches on the second day of the LMU Invitational on Saturday.
Denver opened the day with doubles against Utah and claimed two of the three matches. The team of
Theo Coats and
Connor Robb-Wilcox stayed hot on the season so far with a 6-4 win, and
Tom Noltorp and
Raffaello Papajcik lost one fewer game in their win.
To close the day, the Pioneers swept all six singles matches against UC Irvine including five in straight sets. The day's best result came from Robb-Wilcox, who lost just a single game. Noltorp joined Robb-Wilcox with a bagel and only dropped three games in total. Papajcik got back in the singles win column with match 6-2 sets while freshman

Coats secured the sweep in come-from-behind fashion, responding to losing the first set with a tight 7-5 win in the second set. A late break in the third set gave him the win.
